Transcription:

And what is that Spanish instead of Latin decision? Truly it does not make sense.

Why not write a note to Yanowin telling him the film has not arrived. He could activate things and send it to me direct here.

No need of cobalt blue any more.

As to John, I think it is much too late to question the roots of his vocation, and specially to bring psychoanalysis to bear upon it. It would not be a boon if it would make him wobble in his mind about it.

As he studies, his own mind will develop along new lines. I do believe. Such a vocation has spiritual roots that transcend what rational approach would mean.

Write on back of John’s pictures : Given to John, and the date.

I put the Matson ‘award’ in my billfold. Maybe it could pass as an identification.

I must put all my energy to the work at hand. It occupies all my mind and all my strength. Sorry if I sound a little cranky.

All love, Jean
